Molded FRP Grating
– Durable Fiberglass Grating for Corrosive Environments
Molded FRP grating from Preet is engineered for performance in the harshest industrial and commercial environments. Whether used in chemical plants, offshore platforms, or municipal walkways, our fiberglass floor grating provides exceptional corrosion resistance, strength, and safety with minimal maintenance.
Why Choose Molded Fiberglass Grating?
Unlike traditional metal grating, molded FRP grating is formed as a one-piece composite, ensuring bidirectional strength and chemical resistance. The grating is manufactured using a thermoset resin matrix (ISO, Orthophthalic, or Vinylester), reinforced with continuous fiberglass strands, making it ideal for highly corrosive or wet environments.
- Corrosion-proof in chemicals, acids, and salts
- Slip-resistant surface with optional grit top
- Lightweight for easy handling and installation
- Fire-retardant and UV-resistant
- Available in multiple mesh sizes, colors, and thicknesses
Key Applications
Preet's fiberglass molded grating is widely used across diverse industries:
- Walkways and trench covers in wastewater treatment plants
- Platform decking in chemical processing units
- Anti-slip flooring in food and beverage plants
- Corrosion-resistant grating in marine and offshore environments
- Tree pit covers and landscaping (see: Fiberglass Tree Grate)

Molded vs. Pultruded FRP Grating – What's the Difference?
Molded grating is manufactured by combining resin and glass in a mold and curing it into a solid panel. Pultruded grating, on the other hand, is made by pulling fiberglass rovings through resin and forming them into load bars. Each has its unique advantages:
| Property | Molded FRP Grating | Pultruded FRP Grating |
|---|---|---|
| Strength Direction | Bidirectional | Unidirectional |
| Corrosion Resistance | Excellent | Very Good |
| Open Area | Up to 70% | More limited |
| Weight | Light | Lighter |
| Cost | More economical | Slightly higher |
